From the very beginning of Campaign 4, fresh DM the talented storyteller has maintained audience suspense with deep backstory, a diverse cast of heroes, and a gripping narrative including celestial beings, fiends, and dark forces increasing in power within the urban setting.
Note: Revealing details for the latest installment of the new season are included.
The Warrior Group Introduced
The latest chapter finished on a major cliffhanger and presented the first table of characters who will split off from the main group to embark on their own adventure, apart from the additional parties.
This warrior group includes Teor (portrayed by Travis), the agile character (Laura), the fierce warrior (Whitney Moore), the cleric (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie).
Dividing the Cast
Considering a large ensemble, it was clear from the beginning that maintaining everyone at a single group would be impossible.
This explains, the first four episodes of the new season serve as an Prelude, weaving together the individual narratives before dividing into three separate parties: Fighters, Planners, and Explorers.
The Nature of the Combat Party
According to Brennan Lee Mulligan, the Soldiers table is for participants who prefer a traditionally charged battle-oriented story mode where diplomatic options are scarce.
Initially, characters like the hesitant healer Wicander might appear out of place, but the actions of episode 3 show why these five characters are best suited for the warrior group.
Why They Must Go
To begin with, the team knows exactly where to go next after a violent opening clash with the antagonists.
Casimir of Thjazi—whose death initiated the story’s plot—manipulated the foes for his own means, entering the secret base, attacking Thimble, and swiping all the enchanted items to dispose of.
The antagonist then settled his obligations and ran away to a fortified location in Gormalay, Timmony, beyond Dol-Makjar, with Cyd Pridesire pursuing him.
Individual Reasons
Additionally, each member has a personal reason to leave the city the metropolitan area:
- The agile hero, as the close ally and best friend, wants retribution.
- Kattigan knows the northern area and cautions that it is a hostile environment.
- The strong character and The healer, having defied his house’s orders to kill the target and instead saved him, have no safe haven.
- But, their reputation as prominent individuals in the influential clan could enable the party access places they usually can’t.
- Moreover, Teor pledged a life debt to The cleric for his rescue and will now go with him wherever.
Wanted and Hunted
Lastly, all of them are sought by the authorities that rule the city for a multiple motives, making staying in the city too risky:
- The rogue and Kattigan are known criminals.
- The strong figure and The healer turned against House Halovar and the legion of demons they are partnered with.
- The target is wanted dead by the family.
This results in them little choice but to journey toward Timmony in pursuit of Casimir.
What’s Next?
According to episode three’s follow-up content, we learn that the combat party will be absent the following episode, leaving the rest of the cast members to round up the Questers and Strategists parties.
